FemiLift in Parkland, FL
What is FemiLift™?
FemiLift™ is a quick, safe and highly effective laser vaginal rejuvenation system. It can restore damaged tissue without pain, anesthetic or numbing cream. FemiLift™ is typically performed on women who are experiencing the following conditions:
The anatomical changes these conditions cause often lead to symptoms that can negatively affect a woman's quality of life.
Issues with vaginal health are commonly found in postmenopausal women, breast cancer survivors, and women who have had a hysterectomy. The most common condition treated with FemiLift™ is vaginal looseness—also called vaginal laxity—which causes diminished elasticity and impedes the ability of the vaginal tissue to contract. Patients typically report less pleasurable sex from the loss of sensation as a result of vaginal laxity. This condition is typically made worse from the aftereffects of childbirth, but other risk factors include:
- Poor health habits
- Multiple pregnancies with vaginal deliveries
These factors can degrade the vaginal tissue's collagen and cause a loss of elasticity, which damages vaginal tissue and weakens the pelvic floor muscles. Stress urinary incontinence (SUI)—a condition that causes urine leakage during increased abdominal pressure—may also occur as a result of vaginal laxity.
How Does it Work?
Over time, collagen slowly begins to break down and the body's ability to replace it dwindles. Patients will first be examined by a gynecologist to be cleared for this procedure. FemiLift™ is designed to restore collagen
to the tissues of the vagina, which helps to make the vaginal canal smaller.
After a short examination to test for vaginal trauma or scarring, the physician uses a sterile probe to deliver the laser treatment. Femilift™ uses a sterile pixel CO2 laser to heat the superficial layers of the vaginal tissue. This process encourages the body to regenerate its collagen and elastin proteins, which results in the tightening and firming of the vagina. The procedure is a non-surgical alternative to vaginoplasty, which is surgery to restore the vagina. Vaginoplasty has a longer recovery time and presents different risks, including infection and scarring.
This technology can offer women a safe and effective way to restore their vaginal tissue to a more youthful state without surgery, anesthesia, downtime or pain. Laser vaginal tightening will not only help eliminate involuntary urination, but it will also increase sexual satisfaction for patients, as well as their partners. Patients often report improved comfort and increased sensation, in addition to increased control over urinary incontinence
. Each FemiLift™ treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete and often requires at least three treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. Results typically last 12 to 18 months.
